Do you already know, dear readers, how we relax on New Year 2019 and on weekends during the January holidays? Do you know what official holidays the New Year holidays will be in each month? Not yet, then we will “tell you.”

On the agenda is the calendar of holidays and weekends in 2019 in Russia: New Year's January holidays, May holidays, March 8, February 23, November and the transfer of weekends.

Let's get straight to the point. The Russian Ministry of Labor, as always, is concerned in advance about the order of the New Year holidays. So they already met in March of this year and decided (preliminarily) that:

  1. The official holiday for the New Year will be 10 days - from December 30, 2018 to January 8, 2019 (inclusive);
  2. For the May holidays 2019, Russians will rest from May 1 to May 5 and from May 9 to 12;
  3. And also on February 23 from February 23 to 24;
  4. On March 8 - from March 8 to March 10 (inclusive);
  5. For November - from November 2 to 4.

Official holidays for New Year 2019 and January holidays

This year there are two options for the New Year holidays (possible):

  1. For the New Year we take a full 12 days off – from December 30 to January 10. The option is the most desirable for all Russians.
  2. 10 days (from 12/30/18 to 01/8/19) - optimistic, more accurate and most likely approved, and therefore official (the Ministry of Labor proposed this option for consideration).

How are we relaxing for the New Year 2019? Postponement of days off that fall on New Year's holidays

Saturday December 29 in 2018 will be a working day for Russians. But it will be transferred as a day off to Monday, December 31st.

January 5 and 6, 2019 fall on Saturday and Sunday (and these days are always included in the annual New Year holidays), which means it will be postponed. And the transfer “flies away” for the May holidays - on May 2 and 3, respectively.

January 7 – Christmas is a big holiday, which means we officially have a rest, even if it’s Monday.

So, let’s summarize how we rest for the New Year 2019 and the transfer of days off that fall on the January holidays:

  • We celebrate New Year and Christmas from December 30 to January 8 inclusive!
  • Working Monday, December 31, is moved to Saturday, December 29 (this is a calendar day off, but there will be a working day - most likely a short one).
  • January 5 – May 2.
  • January 6 – May 3.

How do we relax during the May holidays in 2019 (postponement of weekends)?

As mentioned above, the January holidays of January 5 and 6 are official weekends, so they decided to move them to the May holidays of May 2 and 3.

And this month we will have 2 celebrations: Victory Day and Spring and Labor Day.

It turns out that Russian workers will have a rest in May from May 1 to May 5 - spring parties and from May 9 to 12 - Victory Day celebrations.

Here's what we really need to know. Now take a look at the production calendar.

Weekends and holidays for the entire 2019 in Russia – Reschedule calendar

And right away, what kind of days off will be postponed next year in Russia? See the production calendar (rescheduling calendar):

Production calendar for 2019

February holidays 2019

Let's start in order, and next we have February. And this means February 23rd. Well, everything is simple here, February 23 falls on a Saturday - it is an official day off and at the same time a holiday. It turns out that the calendar day off is being moved to Friday, May 10th.

March

March and International Women's Day calendar - March 8th (). It is clear that March 8 is a holiday, and this year it falls on a Friday, which means a day off. And then further on the calendar there are official ones: Saturday, March 9 and Sunday, March 10.

April

April is a normal month. And this year it will not change - it will be held in working mode.

May

First May. May 1 is a public holiday anyway, and May 2 and 3 will be red days due to the transfer from the January holidays of January 5 and 6. Thus, the first long weekend in May 2019 is from May 1 to May 5.

And then another long weekend - from May 9 to 12. May 9 – Victory Day, Thursday. Friday May 10th will be a day off this time - postponed from February 23rd.

June

This year, Russia Day falls in the middle of the working week - June 12 - Wednesday. This means that Russians will be able to rest for only 1 (one) day.

November holidays in 2019 - how we relax

The Day of National Unity and Militia in Russia, November 4, falls exactly on Monday - this Monday will be a day off. And the previous Saturday and Sunday, November 2 and 3, are still weekends according to the calendar.

It turns out that in 2019, Russians will be able to relax for the November holidays for 3 (three) days - from November 2 to November 4.

December

And the final one, December 2019. In this month, so that all of Russia will meet and celebrate the New Year 2020, according to the calendar, it turns out to rest not like in previous years - 10 days, but only 8 days. Since January 1st falls on Wednesday. But maybe those at the top will decide that December 31st is Monday, not that it’s a shortened working day, it’s not even productive. And perhaps the January holidays will somehow be increased.

December 31 - On this day, people are already in the mood for gifts and celebrations, and are preparing with all their might. All of them have no time for work, and if they find themselves at the workplace, they do everything but work.

Official weekends and holidays in 2019 – How much rest do we have?

The decree of the Government of the Russian Federation provides for the postponement of the following days off in 2019:

  • from Saturday 5 January to Thursday 2 May;
  • from Sunday 6 January to Friday 3 May;
  • from Saturday 23 February to Friday 10 May.

Therefore, a picture emerges of holidays for the whole year:

  • New Year holidays and Christmas (December 30, 2018 – January 8, 2019);
  • February 23–24 – in honor of Defender of the Fatherland Day;
  • March 8–10 – International Women's Day;
  • May 1–5 – Spring and Labor Festival;
  • May 9-12 – in honor of Victory Day;
  • June 12 – Russia Day;
  • November 2–4 – in honor of National Unity Day.

Now you already know how we relax for the New Year and about weekends, and about transfers, and how long the January and May holidays last. Well, it’s time to decide on the meeting place and New Year’s gifts. Do you know what symbol, what kind of animal according to the horoscope takes over?

2019 is the year of which animal according to the eastern horoscope

Briefly: 2019 is the year of the Pig or Yellow Earth Boar according to the Eastern Chinese horoscope. And in our understanding, a pig is a kind animal, but loves expensive gifts. The Pig is also a spender and loves freedom and beauty. She cannot be alone and does not tolerate betrayal.

The Pig also believes in fairy tales and magical miracles. This is a humorous zodiac sign and often loves to joke and laugh.

To choose a New Year's gift for the Yellow Pig, you must remember that she loves everything beautiful, practical and expensive that brings joy.

How to celebrate the New Year of the Pig 2019

So the New Year of the Yellow Pig should be celebrated like this (?):

  1. Among friends and loved ones, with family and relatives. The pig loves noisy companies.
  2. There are no restrictions on the New Year's table of dishes. But Boar loves mushrooms most of all, and this product is “heavy” to digest. And it’s as if such an animal does not accept meat, especially pork. But what about without meat? Solution: serve meat salads and appetizers made from chicken meat (easier, cheaper and can be obtained without problems). All fruits and citrus fruits are just right. Check out new and interesting ideas: What to cook for New Year 2019 recipes with photos.
  3. Clothes for the holiday are chosen in yellow shades (brown and green), with the addition of red and gold. “Spicy mustard” is the chic fashion of 2019. The pig is not a very modest animal - quite the contrary, so anything - maxi and mini skirts, shorts and tight dresses, jumpsuits and super-shiny dresses.
  4. Decorations for the New Year. Rumor has it that Kabanchik is “not a miss”, and it will come in handy as a “golden piece” in your New Year’s wardrobe. Just don't overdo it!
  5. Home comfort. If you have the opportunity, decorate your apartment or house in yellow, gold, and red: tinsel, snowflakes, ribbons. The New Year tree is beautiful, we see it with gold and red balls mixed together, plus not a lot of tinsel and “rain”.

For those who are not going to sit and welcome home, we have selected several destinations where it is better to relax for the New Year, where to go?

    Calendar of weekends and holidays in January 2018

    The anticipation of the holiday will help you not to feel sad during the first working week of the new year. The Old New Year is respected in many families, and not only Russian ones. Moreover, in 2018 it is celebrated on the night from Saturday to Sunday, so the fact that this holiday is not a national day off will not prevent you from celebrating it well.
    According to tradition, on a generous evening (this is what this holiday is called in Ukraine and Belarus), it is customary to cook porridge from whole grains of wheat, bake pancakes and pies, and also prepare pork dishes, since St. Basil the Great, whose memory is honored on January 14, was the patron saint of pig farmers. Gardeners shake off snow from apple tree branches this night. This ritual is said to ensure a good harvest.

    Holidays in January 2018 are not limited to Christmas and New Year holidays; this month has quite a few interesting dates and memorable days, but none of them are a day off.
    January 12– Prosecutor's Day
    13th of January– Russian Press Day
    The 25th of January– Student Day or Tatyana’s Day
    – Day of the navigator
    January 27– Day of lifting the blockade

    The moon makes its usual circle, regardless of weekends and weekdays, vacations and holidays. In January, she will be especially supportive of us on the 4th, 17th and 25th. And, of course, at this time I especially want to change something in my life. You can, for example, have a wedding this month; the most suitable days for this will be January 1, 21, 26.
    Those who are not ready for such drastic changes can change less dramatically and get a new haircut. The moon will help in this matter on January 8, 18, 27. As a last resort, you can think about next spring and open the sowing season on the windowsill. The moon welcomes this business, especially January 2, 25 and 30 - these are the most suitable days for planting and replanting plants.

    School holidays are loved and long-awaited not only for millions of students in our country, but also for their parents. In order to successfully plan the winter holiday period at school and their vacation schedule, parents should know the New Year holiday schedule for 2019-2020 and the dates when their children begin their studies. This way, they will be able to adjust their vacation time and other events to the schoolchildren’s rest period. At this time, you can go with the whole family on a trip, to the country, plan trips to museums, theaters and other entertainment programs.

    It's not just children who have holidays. This is a wonderful and long-awaited time, which always passes incredibly quickly and, often very brightly, is accessible to adult citizens of Russia. Every year, at the legislative level, the country's authorities decide when and how many days the residents of the state will have the opportunity to take a break from everyday work. As a rule, such a calendar of holidays and weekends applies only to officially employed citizens working in the public sector of the labor market, and this also applies to schoolchildren and students.

    Holidays, as well as the time of vacations common to all, are determined by the Labor Code of the Russian Federation. According to this state document, in 2020, in the month of January, we will have a rest according to the wording, which is enshrined in the Labor Code and is called “New Year’s holidays.” This concept includes the numbers from January 1st to January 8th inclusive. This general rule has been in effect in our country since 2012 and suits our fellow citizens completely. True, some servants of the people are trying to introduce an initiative to extend the holiday weekend and add December 31 to them. But so far this amendment has not officially passed, and we will rest according to the Labor Code.

    In 2019-2020, the New Year will begin, as always, on the night of January 1, 2020. Russians will have the opportunity not to go to work from January 1 to January 8 inclusive. Everyone's favorite Old New Year will fall at the beginning of the week in 2020, and therefore residents of Russia will not have the opportunity to rest and relax. So, if you adhere to the tradition of celebrating this controversial but fun day, then be patient and wait until the end of the working day on January 13th. And remember that on January 14th you will have to go back to work in the morning; in this sense, Russian legislation does not provide any relief for citizens.

    New Year calendar of working days and weekends for the New Year 2020

    The days when the whole family can enjoy a relaxing holiday in January are the longest, and therefore long-awaited. In the coming year 2020, no exceptions are expected in this sense. Russian citizens are planning various trips with the whole family these days. This time really gives people an atmosphere of kindness and family warmth. New Year's holidays are like a small vacation that people truly value and plan for carefully.

    The first of January falls in the middle of the week, it will be Wednesday. The New Year holidays will last from this day until January 8 inclusive. But January 4 and 5, which fall on Saturday and Sunday in the calendar, will definitely regain their status as full-fledged holiday weekends in the future. They will be rescheduled for another time. There is no exact information yet on how the authorities will manage these days off. Perhaps the New Year holidays will be extended, and we will return to work not on January 9, but only on January 11. In this case, the New Year holidays 2020 will become incredibly big. Another option is that this couple of days will go into May and will complement the weekend period as part of the May Day holiday, or two days will be added to Victory Day. In any case, Russians should not worry, people will definitely get their legal holidays, the Labor Code of the Russian Federation simply will not allow other scenarios.

    If we talk about the production calendar, then everything depends on the specific organization. In many manufacturing and service sectors, there are irregular working hours, where people work 12 hours or even days. For these categories of the working population, it is necessary to take these features into account when drawing up the appropriate calendar plan. For the country as a whole, with a 5-day working week, when a person works 8 hours every day, the following features of recording working and non-working time in the first month of 2020 can be determined.

    In January 2020, the total number of days is 31. Official working days in January are 17. The number of non-working days is 14. Transfers of holidays to other dates are 2 (January 4 and 5).

    Where to go on vacation?

    Where to go in Russia in winter? When the long winter holidays arrive, many parents have a question: where to go or travel with their child so that he will be interested, so that he does not spend the entire holiday watching TV or the computer. Of course, a lot is organized for children, but I would like variety, so that there are not only Christmas trees, and so that the children can walk in the fresh air.

    There are interesting places where you can go with children from Moscow or cities in the Moscow region. This is the “Reindeer” deer farm, which is located in the village of Antsifirovo, Orekhovo-Zuevsky district, near the city of Yegoryevsk.

    The farm is located right in the forest, among beautiful snow-covered forests and fields. Children will have a lot of fun sledding on a real reindeer sled across a snow-covered field.

    Happy holidays for schoolchildren for the New Year 2020

    Modern children are the same boys and girls as 10 years ago, but with some differences. And this is understandable - when times change, it is children who are the first to catch the wind of change. Today, guys still love to communicate, have fun, make plans and fool around as before. Only the methods have changed a little. Nowadays, most children of high school age communicate, make acquaintances, make friends, and find entertainment on the Internet.

    What about the holidays? How do kids these days prefer to spend their days off, especially when the holiday period lasts as long as winter break? Among the dominant entertainment for schoolchildren during the New Year holidays are the following options:

    schoolchildren create New Year's chats on the Internet and communicate with peers on a variety of topics;

    • engage in photography, because during the New Year holidays there are many wonderful places and scenery against which your selfie will look very attractive. After this, most often the guys organize secret competitions for the best photo on Instagram and other virtual networks;
    • play computer games online when competitions take place with real people;
    • If, after all, children get tired of surfing the Internet, then they choose a sports and entertainment form of leisure. This includes slides, skating rinks, ski lodges, and so on;
    • visiting cinemas, since during the New Year holidays, as a rule, there are a huge number of movie premieres, both foreign and domestic directors;
    • organization of so-called “apartment parties”, when parents go to relatives, and children invite friends to their home for a holiday party.

    Exciting winter holidays 2019-2020 for students

    The New Year will come very soon, the session and exams are behind us and now is the time for students to have a good rest and gain strength before the next academic period. What to do with yourself during such a long vacation, which the state gives us at the beginning of January? Sitting in front of the TV all day, eating salads, is perhaps not the most rosy prospect, especially for young people.

    There are many options for spending a useful and exciting holiday weekend. The main thing is not to get lost in this diversity, but to draw up a more or less clear plan and try to stick to it.

    Who are the students? These people are already quite adults, but in fact most of them are still real children! Therefore, the way of spending leisure time among students is something between children's fun and adult leisure. During the New Year holidays, we offer the following activities for students of all ages:

    • a trip to the country of your dreams;
    • a trip to the mountains in the company of like-minded people;
    • meeting with old friends, classmates and fellow students;
    • organizing sports activities, for example, the option to gather friends, rent laser tag equipment and go to the nearest forest to get true adrenaline;
    • going to nightlife in your city;
    • participation in various master classes and quests;
    • trip to a ski resort;
    • visiting memorable places of your hometown and region in which you were born and raised;
    • going to the theater or cinema;
    • spending evenings in a coffee shop in the company of a loved one;
    • a trip to visit relatives in another city.

    To see how Russians spent their winter holidays during the New Year holidays 2019, watch the video:

    New Year is the most beloved and long-awaited holiday for most of our compatriots! A Christmas tree shining with lights, rustling spirals of tinsel, multi-colored gift boxes and, of course, the long-awaited New Year holidays.

    There is not much time left before 2018, so it’s time to start thinking about what it will be like, how it will be met, and how it will go in general. Next year 2018 will be the year of the yellow earthen Dog. After the last and current years, the element of which is fire, in 2018 the element will be Earth. This is a fundamental point, since the fire, and therefore the seething, sometimes overflowing, passions will fade into the background and calm, peace, harmony, stability will come - this will affect every person and the state as a whole.

    The schedule of holidays and weekends is within the competence of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection. The project for 2018 has already been prepared, but has not been approved by the Russian government, so there may still be changes.

    The traditional New Year's mini-vacation is why many of us look forward to the beginning of January. Read about how we relax during the New Year holidays in 2018 in this article.

    Just the other day, the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy presented the final schedule for the 2018 New Year holidays and other upcoming holidays, which had been known since March. Formally, the project still needs to be discussed, but, as practice shows, these dates have already been actually approved.

    How to relax for the New Year 2018

    The long New Year's "vacation" is a long-standing tradition that has developed in our country by analogy with the Christmas holidays in Europe. The average duration of winter vacation is about two weeks. For many Russians, New Year's holidays are no less long-awaited than summer vacation. Of course, in Russia itself there are a lot of exciting winter activities - from the opportunity to visit Santa Claus in Veliky Ustyug, to skiing at the recently built Sochi resorts. Along with the growing popularity of domestic tourism, there is a need to plan New Year's holidays in advance and, accordingly, you need to know exactly their dates. Every year, the Ministry of Labor adjusts rest days by a special Resolution signed by the President.

    For 2018, an exact production calendar does not yet exist, but there are amendments.

    Many people dream of taking a longer vacation, but for a huge number of working Russians, their wages are calculated based on an hourly rate, and a large number of days off results in depressingly low numbers on the payroll. Long weekends are also unprofitable for the employer, so in recent years there has been a noticeable trend toward a gradual reduction in the “long” New Year’s weekend.

    So, let’s take a closer look at how we relax during the New Year holidays in 2018. And let’s start, perhaps, from December 2017.

    Two pre-holiday days - December 30 and 31 - fall on the weekend, that is, Saturday and Sunday, and will be non-working. December 29 will most likely become a shortened working day (albeit unofficially).

    • January 1 and 2 are New Year holidays.
    • January 7 – Christmas.

    In the period from January 1 to January 8 inclusive - weekends (non-working days), those long-awaited New Year holidays. Add to these seven days two non-working days in December - we get nine. In total, we will rest from December 30 to January 8 inclusive. This information is accurate and cannot be changed.

    But now the difficulties begin. Christmas is not included in the list of public holidays, and therefore does not fall under the law on the transfer of holidays; this day is considered just a day off.

    The Government Decree “On the postponement of holidays and weekends in 2018” will put an end to this issue. The document will appear closer to the fall of 2017.

    Let's summarize. Today, while there is no final approval of the order, there are three main versions of the duration of the New Year holidays:

    • 9 days – from December 30, 2017 to January 7, 2018 inclusive (for work on Monday, January 8);
    • 10 days - from December 30, 2017 to January 8, 2018 inclusive (for work on Tuesday, January 9) - most likely this option will remain, since it was approved by the Ministry of Labor on March 17, 2017;
    • 12 days – from December 30, 2017 to January 10, 2018 inclusive (for work on Thursday, January 11).

    Currently, the first version corresponds to the letter of Article 112 of the Federal Law “On Labor”; the latest version of the long-established tradition of a “long” New Year’s holiday. The second option turned out to be correct and plan your New Year holidays based on these dates.

    School holidays are a time of long-awaited rest for any student. Both first-graders and future graduates count the days until the start of the holidays literally from the first days of the school year. After all, the 2017-2018 holidays are not just days free from school, but also a time filled with games, communication with peers, and vacation trips with family. The exact dates of the holidays are also important for parents, because many of them try to Keep your child busy as much as possible, send him on an interesting trip or take a vacation from work.

    Both parents and students should know that the schedule is a guideline. That is, officials from the ministry can only indicate the approximate dates for the start and end of the holidays, but when exactly the days of the cherished rest begin is determined by a school order. Thus, vacation days may vary from school to school, even if the school follows the same curriculum.

    The only mandatory rules include that school holidays must begin on Monday and not be “shifted” from the recommended dates by more than two weeks in either direction.

    So, the approximate school holiday schedule for the 2017-2018 academic year for schools teaching in quarters.

    Autumn vacation

    Autumn vacation. Late October – early November.

    The end date of the autumn holidays is influenced by National Unity Day, celebrated on November 4. Since this holiday falls on a Saturday in 2017, the day off will be moved to Monday, November 6. Approximate dates of autumn holidays: 28.10. – 06.11. (inclusive).

    The winter vacation

    The winter vacation. End of December – first ten days of January.

    The dates of winter holidays are the same for both types of study - both quarters and trimesters. At the same time, school holidays coincide with rest days for the New Year - the first working day after the holidays usually falls on January 9-10. Approximate winter holiday dates: – 25.12. – 09.01.
    For first-graders who are just beginning to get used to the regulated life of school, additional holidays have been introduced. Additional winter holidays in 1st grade: 19.02. – 25.02 .

    Spring break

    Spring break. The end of March - the first days of April.

    During this period there are no public holidays, and therefore the first and last days of the holidays depend solely on weekends. Approximate spring break dates: 26.03. – 01. 04.

    Summer holidays

    Summer holidays. From the first to the last day of the summer months.

    Holidays by trimester

    The situation is similar with the trimester education system - the Ministry of Education has not yet prepared recommendations on the start dates of school holidays. However, in this case, calculating vacation time is much easier: in such schools, education is based on the 5+1 principle. That is, five weeks of training (sometimes six) alternate with a week of vacation. 35 days of school, then 7 days of vacation - and the cycle repeats again. The only exception is the winter, or more precisely, New Year's holidays. This rest period in schools with a trimester system coincides with vacations in regular schools, where education is based on the principle of quarters. Approximate vacation dates in schools with a trimester system of education:

    Schoolchildren who communicate with peers from other cities in Russia notice that the start and end dates of the holidays often do not coincide. Why is this happening? One country, one specialized department that manages the learning process - the Ministry of Education, and the 2017-2018 school holidays in Moscow, St. Petersburg and other Russian cities begin at different times.

    The educational process can take place in schools in different ways. Some educational institutions study exactly according to the established plan, neither ahead nor behind the school curriculum. Others may fall behind the curriculum due to various force majeure circumstances.

    A variety of factors can interfere with your studies. For example, for schoolchildren in Siberia, it is not unusual for an announcement like: “Today, due to severe frosts, schoolchildren from the first to the eleventh grade are not studying.” Due to low air temperatures, strong winds, snowstorms or blizzards, the municipal Department of Education may announce the cancellation of classes. Depending on weather conditions, only the lower grades or the entire school may miss classes. Less frequent, but also not something out of the ordinary, is the announcement of the cancellation of classes due to spring floods. Most reasons for missing school are force majeure, occurring due to circumstances beyond the control of the education department.
    If only a few such “force majeure” days are announced per year - usually three to five - then there is an opportunity to “catch up” with the curriculum. However, when such “absences” accumulate quite a lot - from a week or more, then the school administration has to take unpopular measures among schoolchildren and reduce or postpone the time of school holidays. Such force majeure is the reason why the right to set rest times is left to the school director, and is not regulated by direct order of the ministry.

    Additional holidays in the 2017-2018 academic year

    Unforeseen vacations are a great joy for most schoolchildren, while their reasons are not at all cheerful. Additional vacations may be assigned or planned dates may be postponed for the following reasons:

    • severe frosts (at -25, classes are canceled in elementary school, at -28 in middle school, and, at -30, in high school);
    • if the air temperature in the classrooms drops below +18;
    • exceeding the epidemiological threshold for a particular disease.

    Vacations in 2017-2018 for students

    In universities there are only winter and summer holidays between semesters. Moreover, unlike schools, their dates can vary significantly, depending on the curriculum of each particular institution. In addition, students need to undergo summer internship. In most cases, winter holidays for students in 2017-2018 will fall from the end of January to mid-February, and summer holidays will begin in July.

    Could there be innovations in the 2017-2018 academic year?

    Now the idea is being actively discussed that it is necessary to return to the old rules, when the dates of all holidays were the same for schools throughout the country. This is convenient for organizing Olympiads, various competitions, children’s conventions, etc. In order to find out public opinion in the capital, they even conducted a survey with the following points:

    1. let it be as it is;
    2. move from quarters to trimesters, increasing the duration of vacations between them;
    3. on the contrary, divide the school year into five parts, with a week's rest between them.

    None of the points received a clear majority; most schools consider the current system correct, when they can independently adjust the dates of the holidays proposed by the ministry. Most likely, no significant changes are expected in the structure of the 2017-2018 academic year.
