To make a New Year's toy from a light bulb, you will need the following materials and tools:

- means for degreasing surfaces (alcohol, glass cleaner or liquid for removing the fat layer from the nails);
- primer for decoupage;
- foam sponge;
- glue for decoupage;
- large synthetic brush;
- medium brush with soft bristles;
- scissors;
- decorative contour for bronze-colored ceramics;
- glue gun;
- decoupage card with New Year or Christmas motifs;
- thin hemp rope;
- Bronze glitter.
How to make a Christmas light bulb toy
1. Before you start decorating the light bulb, you need to degrease the glass surface for better adhesion to the primer. Take a cotton pad and moisten it with a grease remover, wipe the light bulb. When the light bulb dries, cover it with a layer of decoupage primer
2. While the soil dries, cut out the elements you like from the decoupage card or napkin
3. If you are using a napkin, then remove the two lower layers of paper. If you have a decoupage card, then the paper needs to be made thinner. To do this, turn the elements over, moisten them with water and, using the hard part of the sponge, carefully erase the wrong side of the motifs (excess paper thickness will roll up and it will be easy to remove)
4. Now you can cover the light bulb with a second layer of primer and create a uniform texture for subsequent decor. With a small piece of sponge that needs to be dipped in the ground, cover the entire surface of the light bulb with short, frequent movements. To make it convenient to dry the product, you can tie a piece of twine to the bulb holder and hang it during drying.
5. After the next drying, you can start decorating the light bulb with prepared motifs. First, decide where exactly they will be located. Then grease the wrong side of the cut out element and glue it in the right place. With a damp soft brush, level the surface of the paper so that the motif fits snugly against the primed surface.
6. Glue the remaining two motifs in the same way
7. Having dried the product well, we proceed to further decor. Take the ceramic outline and squeeze a small amount of it onto the palette. Dip a piece of foam rubber into the bronze outline and do a few trial runs on the palette to remove excess paint. And only now proceed to bronze the light bulb

9. Dry the decorative layer and coat the entire toy with a water-based glossy clear varnish
10. When the nail polish is dry, apply some nail polish around the Christmas motifs with a brush and brush on bronze-colored glitter.
11. It remains to hide the cartridge from the light bulb. Turn on the glue gun, when it is hot, apply glue to the top of the cartridge and glue a loop of thin twine

Several methods have been invented for making Christmas tree decorations from light bulbs. One of them very simple: apply glue from a tube to a light bulb and sprinkle it with sparkles. The light bulb must be held by the base and gently rotated so that the sparkles evenly cover the entire glass.
A light bulb smeared with glue can be dipped in sequins, the extra ones will crumble from it, and those that are stuck will stick well.
Keep in mind that to decorate light bulbs, you can take not only small sparkles, but also stars, snowflakes, hearts and any other small decorations that you have.
Light bulbs of different shapes, covered with multi-colored sequins, will decorate your Christmas tree this year.
You can hang such beautiful light bulbs-toys one at a time, or you can make a garland out of them. And there is another idea: stick light bulbs in a circle on a rim made of wood or thick cardboard and you get a New Year's wreath. it can be decorated with bows, spruce branches, beads or tinsel.

And this toy got a quite decent nose, but the eyes had to be glued in different sizes, because the same ones were not enough.
Method number seven very simple and does not require special skills and a lot of time. And it consists in winding thick threads around a light bulb. Everyone who knits has a whole basket or box of leftover threads. Here, use them. Toy light bulbs will be multi-colored, because you probably have not only gray and black yarn! And the tip of the thread, both at the beginning and at the end of the work, must be fixed with glue.
Eighth way. Paint the light bulb as described above, dry it. Cut out the picture you like from a napkin or a magazine and carefully glue it onto the acrylic lacquer to the light bulb. When the painting is dry, dip the brush in acrylic lacquer and coat the entire bulb. And in the photo that you see below, the light bulb was not painted, but simply wrapped and pasted over with the top layer of a colorful napkin, and then varnished. And next to the left is a light bulb, which is painted with golden paint from a spray can, and the stripes are applied from sequins. To make these stripes appear, grease not the entire bulb with glue, but only those places where the sparkles should be.
