For a shirt-front, you can use any scheme and pattern or knit with raglan. I took a simple scheme of leaflets.

Materials for work:
First, we knit a bar that will go along the oval of the face.
To do this, we collect 7 loops on knitting needles No. 3 and knit garter stitch for 125 rows. At the end of the loop we close, we cut the thread.
There are 63 loops along the long edge of the resulting strip, and we need to dial 106 loops. To do this, I first knitted one row of single crochets with crochet No. 3 in this way: I alternate 2 loops and 3 loops (I knit 2 from one loop). Next, we collect on the knitting needles No. 4 along the long side of 106 loops.
We knit 106 loops cast on in this way: 1 hem, 2 garter sts, * 2 front sts, 6 braid sts, 2 front sts, 4 garter sts *, 2 front sts, 2 garter sts, 1 hem. From * to * - rapport, repeat it to the end of the row. We knit 43 rows like this.

We continue to knit according to the described scheme, and in the 51-52nd row we begin to make symmetrical decreases in the middle 36 loops. In each sixth row, we decrease 2 loops: one on each side of the central “braid” (i.e., we do not touch the central “braid” and 2 purl on the sides of it, and decrease the following loops). We continue to decrease until there are 14-16 loops in the middle.
We knit a cap until all the side loops are over. Close the remaining loops of the middle, cut the thread.
The next stage - we knit the neck, like a shirt-front. To do this, on the bottom edge of the cap, we collect loops with knitting needles No. 3 in this way: 5 air loops for the strap (I crochet and then put them on the knitting needles), dial 74 loops along the bottom edge and then again 5 air loops for the strap.
We knit in this way: 1 hem, 6 garter sts, * 2 front sts, 6 braid sts, 2 front sts, 5 garter sts *, (from * to * repeat 4 times), then 2 front sts smooth, 6 loops of the "braid", 2 loops of the front surface, 6 loops of garter stitch, 1 edge.
On one of the straps we make loops for buttons. To do this, at the beginning of the row we knit 3 loops with a garter stitch, we make 2 crochets. And close the next 2 loops.
We get just such a hole, and above it 2 crochets.
In the next row (on the way back) from 2 yarns we knit 2 loops according to the pattern (garter stitch) and get the first hole for buttons. We do the rest in the same way.
We knit 16 rows without increments, then change the knitting needles to No. 4 and make increments. We add loops on the sides of the "braids" and the purl loops framing them. We have 5 "braids", we add one loop on each side of the "braid" and that we get 10 loops in a row.
I added loops to the middle garter loops, gradually increasing their number. Increases are performed in 17, 19, 22, 24, 27 rows and so on, until we add 8 loops on each side of the “braid”.
Then we knit another 6-8 rows of garter stitch without increments. Close all loops.
We knit loops along the bottom edge of the cap + 5 strap loops on each side.
We sew buttons on the hat.

Materials for work:
- 1 skein of Bernat Softee Baby (100% acrylic, 140g/331m);
- knitting needles 3.75 and 4.0 mm;
- two loop holders;
- needle.
Knitting density:
21 sts * 40 rows = 10*10 cm on large needles, garter stitch.
Progress:
Cast on 82 (86, 92) sts with smaller needles.
1st row (person. side): 1 person., * 2 persons., 2 out., repeat from * to the last. loops, 1 person.
2nd row: 1 out., * 2 persons., 2 out., repeat from * to the last. loops, 1 out.
1-2 rows is an elastic band, repeat them 3 more times.
Track. row (person. side): 3 persons., 2 out., 2 persons., set aside knitted 7 loops on the loop holder, knit with an elastic band until the last. 7 sts, turn work and place last 7 sts on st holder = 68 (72, 76) sts.
Switch to large needles.
Track. row: *4 persons., add a loop, repeat from * to the last. 4 loops, 4 persons. = 84 (89, 94) loops.
Only for sizes 6/12 months. and 4 years: knit facial, add 1 loop in the center of work = 85 (95) loops.
For all sizes: Continue in garter st (knit each row) to a height of 16.5 (18, 19) cm, ending on the wrong side.
Knit next 10 (12, 12) rows: Cast off 3 sts, end with K = 25 (29, 29) sts after 10 (12, 12) th row.
Close all loops.
Sew back seam.
Neck:

Cast on 60 stitches.

Continue knitting with an elastic band - 24 rows.

We carry out a pattern of a hat of your size in full size (we use the pattern that we drew when knitting a hat, we translate the number of loops and rows into centimeters, using the density of knitting).
We take fabric - fleece. We check which side stretches (they should stretch in the width of the cap).
We transfer the pattern to the fabric, cut it out.
Sew two seams on the tops of the hat (see pattern) to sew the short and long sides, I pulled the short side to the size of the long one, secured with pins and sewed.
Sew the first piece of the lining to the knitted hat.
Repeat for the second part. Stretch the second part in width over the entire circumference of the cap.

Today we will just figure out how to crochet a hat for a boy

“To knit a helmet hat with a mohawk visor and a shirt-front, we need:
100 gr. yarn of the main color, plus yarn of the finishing (contrasting) color and a hook suitable for your yarn.
I have German threads from "hamster stocks".
Two skeins of light gray color 210 m / 50 gr; 75% wool/ 25% polyamide.
A hank of dark gray color, suitable in thickness and composition.
The threads are thin, I will knit in 2 additions with crochet No. 4.
Initially, I had 2 skeins of 50 gr. the main yarn for a children's hat with a shirt-front. It was these threads that went to knitting a hat-helmet. One hank was enough for the cap and 2 rows of the back. I knitted the back part already from the second hank.
On the mohawk, visor and shirt-front there is less than 50 gr. the main color yarn is clearly not enough ...
And I found 3 ways to "stretch" the remaining yarn:
- Knit mohawk from finishing yarn.
- The visor is knitted from finishing threads.
- Tie the shirt-front in one thread of the main color with double crochets.
Hat hat crochet for a boy - work order
We begin to knit a hat-helmet from the crown. The helmet should be warmer and keep its shape, so I knit it in two strands.
We close 5 VPs in a ring.
1 row - 12 RLS we knit not in a ring, but in the air loops of the ring. With this method of knitting 1 row in the center there will be no hole.
2 row - Evenly add 6 sc (1 sc, 2 sc in one loop of the previous row) = 18 sc.)
3,4,5 rows add 6 sc. Shift the places of addition in each row to get an even circle.
from the 6th row we add 4 sc in each row.
I knit in a spiral, I marked the beginning of the rows with a colored thread. 
We continue to knit in a circle.
We add 4 sc in each row until the bottom is the desired size.
In order not to miss the size, .
The outer side of the bottom should be equal to the girth of the head.
I knit a children's hat with a lining.
The bottom turned out to be 18 cm in diameter, the outer side of the bottom is 52 cm. 
Next, we continue to knit in a straight line, without adding loops.
You should get a cap that covers your ears ~ 2 cm.
The depth of my cap is 17 cm. 
Let's start knitting the back of the helmet
We turn knitting and knit RLS 1/2 row + 2-3 cm.
We knit the back of the helmet in turning rows (back and forth) to the desired length (from 5 cm).
I have a long one, 9 cm, I will tie a shirt-front to it. 
We knit a crochet mohawk
First, my mohawk is double.
Secondly, it is tied in one thread (the hat is tied in two additions).
We knit a chain of VP with a length equal to the height of the cap. I have 17cm.
1 row. SSN behind the front wall of the loop.
We reach the end of the chain, we knit in the last loop of the chain 3СН.
We turn knitting.
We knit in the opposite direction for the second (it is again the front) wall of the loop.
At the end of the row we make a connecting column.
2, 3, 4 rows. 3 VP to raise the row. Next SSN. In the middle of the row, before turning, we knit 3 dc in one loop.
5 row. We fold the fabric in half and “sew” both sides of the mohawk, knitting RLS through 2 CCHs of the previous row.
I didn’t take a picture of the finished mohawk, I hurried to sew it to the hat.

We knit a visor for our helmet
My visor is connected from the center.
We knit a chain of 16-25 VP.
1,3,4,6,7 rows of CCH.
2,5,8 rows. CCH, in the middle we knit 2 CCH with one top, i.e. subtract one SSN.
from the 9th row in each row we subtract 1 dc at the beginning or end of the row (as you prefer).
We knit to the desired length. 
The final row is RLS, in the middle we make a loop from the VP. We tie the finished visor to RLS.
Why did I take away the CCH in different ways when knitting? To give the desired shape.
In the center, where the visor should cover the face, it turned out to be slightly convex, closer to the ends, to the attachment points - flat.
I knitted the visor from finishing threads. It remains to attach it to a cap with a mohawk ... For a knitted helmet, “real forged” buttons, which turned out to be suspiciously light, were quite suitable ...
The visor has been successfully attached. The result obtained was quite satisfying. 
It is quite possible to leave it like that))) But my crocheted hat is designed for a little boy who simply needs such a detail as a shirt-front for this product ...

We knit a shirt-front for a knight's helmet
It is better to make the shirt-front thinner and softer, so I knit it in one thread
It is tied like raglan on top.
In front we add loops, we knit a chain of 12-20 VP. The amount of VP depends on the thickness of the yarn.
1 row CCH. We close the row in a ring.
We divide the dc into 4 parts and in each row along the raglan line in 4 places we add 2 dc, knitting 3 dc into one dc of the previous row.
I knitted the shirt-front in turning rows so that the raglan line did not move. 
Finally got around to doing a little photo shoot. 
In the photo - my youngest son, the hat is a bit small for him (the shirt-front does not fit on his shoulders). The crochet hat was knitted for the grandson. The grandson has a shorter neck, the shirt-front will lie better. Inside, the client's mother will sew fleece.
